Back in 2013, Webreality and Jersey Post joined forces to build a directory of local businesses trading online with local consumers.
It was never a profit-making venture; more an experiment in what we could do to encourage more businesses to serve local customers onlilne, 24/7.
After a couple of years of time invested, the rationale for the site became less compelling, and it was allowed to take a graceful early retirement.
But it was never closed down... and then in March 2020 it suddenly became relevant again, in a way that no-one could have forecast.
Jersey Post is no longer involved, but Webreality has picked up the baton again and brought the website and its listings up to date.
Our purpose now is to help businesses who trade online get found, and consumers needing to buy products from their quarantined homes to find what they need. ShopJersey.je is therefore effectively a public information service, free for all to use.
To qualify for inclusion, a business has to meet the following criteria:
1. Have a transactional website - you must be able to purchase or "click and collect" (see live pricing and in stock information product by product, commit to the purchase in real time, and collect and pay in store)
2. Be locally owned in Jersey
3. Be independent of any national chain.
There's no charge to be listed.
If you are a retailer wanting to be listed, please send us your details using the Submit a Business form.
